A three week intensive course that teaches the students the finer points of personal styling for menswear. The course is open to all who have an interest or have ever shown a flare for menswear fashion design, styling or even for your own personal style development.

Personal styling must be distinguished from fashion styling at this point. While fashion styling is under the broad subject of styling, it covers the conceptualisation and clothing of fashion models for editorial purposes, i.e, magazines, fashion shows, publicity images for clothing labels and fashion other editorial photo shoots. While the professional here will be working with models, who are trained to be no more than human hangers without demands or reservations as to their clothing, a personal stylist will be working with a regular person with more average sizing that is more likely to have concerns and opinions about your work.

Students will be taken through the world of personal shopping, personal styling, and image consultation among other things. You will be trained from the history of styling and fashion all the way through to styling in today’s environment. The course will enable you to confidently shop for your clients and to design specifically for a client without expending energy and funds, only to find that things do not suit the recipient, without understanding why.
