The Van Joko art school is a dynamic space created for the nourishment of the mind and for a freedom of expression often suppressed in our society. We are big believers in doing exactly what we love to do and making a living from it.
We are located in the bustling Lekki Phase 1 neighborhood of Lagos, a community of the young and the young at heart. It is an eclectic mix of established businesses jostling shoulder to shoulder with fledglings. With several 24-hour businesses, it is the part of this city that never sleeps.

Entertainment: Nigeria’s first IMAX cinema is a twelve minute walk (two minute drive) away from us and is a luxury experience every visitor must have. Two more cinemas are located twenty and thirty minute drives away from us. A library is open to the public, five minutes away from us and another one nearby on Awolowo road, for the quieter day out.
Dine: We are surrounded by a number of restaurants that cater to every taste. African foods, Chinese, Fast food, dessert, healthy foods…every taste bud is catered to.
Shop: Our school sits right above the very luxurious Ewemade Van Joko fashion space and that is just one of very many stores in the area. Wana Sambo womenswear stands a few doors down from Kimono menswear. If bridal shopping is more your interest, the world renowned April By Kunbi is located a mere 5 minute drive away!
Dance: The Lekki Phase 1 nightlife is as legendary as it comes. Everything is at the fingertips. From the 24 hour cafes and fast food restaurants to the delightfully intimate Karaoke bars and even the open air bars with live band entertainment. You never know who you may run into on a Friday (or even a Monday) night!
Live: The Lekki and Victoria Island neighborhood are served by a Plethora of home away from home style accommodations as well as full-on hotel experiences.
