Ewemade Bode Banjoko

Ewemade Bode Banjoko, creative director of Luxury womenswear brands, Shakara Couture and Ewemade Van Joko, is a stellar fashion mind who has managed to set her brand apart in the highly competitive Nigerian fashion space.

Ewemade studied and attained a law degree at the University of Lagos but had already begun a career in fashion from the second year of her law degree.

What had started as a flare, was turned into a fledgling womenswear custom made clothing business named, The House of Elan.

At the culmination of her time in the University of Lagos, Ewemade decided to do more than just carry on with the little knowledge she had picked up in her three years in business. She took her dream a few steps further by enrolling at the prestigious London College of Fashion and Central Saint Martin where she trained as a Fashion Designer, an Editorial Stylist, a Personal stylist, a Milliner, a Fashion Show Producer, a Fashion illustrator, a Pattern maker, a Couture and luxury tailor and a Professional buyer.

She has been featured on multiple platforms and her clothes have been worn by everyone, from celebrities to heads of industry and leaders in government.

The Van Joko School of the Arts was founded by her in August of 2015. Her vision and doggedness as well as her famed attention to detail have put her at the top of her industry with more and more to come from her.
